Hi all,

I have really enjoyed blogging about my weight loss; however, I won’t be able to complete my weight loss goal with Be Well. I’m moving pretty far away at the beginning of the year, and will be unable to make the weekly trips to see Tina and get food, so this is my last blog post ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I will be handing the blog over to someone new so they can share their trials and triumphs with you all. Thank you so much for reading and commenting; it really means a lot to me!

The Race is Almost Finished!

October 26, 2010 Leave a comment

I try to pull myself from my work,ย  and go somewhere to walk around – I do sit in front of a computer for almost 20 hours a day, after all – so Friday, my boyfriend and I went to the mall. I have not been in a mall in a long while, mostly because walking around was pretty painful. I had fun! We walked around the entire mall instead of just doing the “get in, get out” thing like I used to do.

We didn’t buy anything, mostly because neither of us needed anything, but I really did want to find a Tamagotchi. Remember those? Ah, good times, good times ๐Ÿ™‚

Nobody had one, so we went home. I spent about 45 minutes in there, and only sat down twice because my back was sore.

Yesterday, I had an unbelievable burst of energy! We went out to eat (I had a club sandwich without the sandwich, and a small bowl of chicken tortilla soup without the tortilla), and then we stopped by Sam’s Club to buy some diet-y things – namely, a jumbo-tastic bag of coleslaw mix. BUT, they closed at 6 ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

So we went to Wal-Mart instead, just because I really needed to walk around. I’m not normally the kind of person who walks up. and down. every. single. aisle, but we did it anyway – for about 1.5 hours! After we came home, I put things away, and cleaned up a little. Then I made flower clips for my hair, and got back to work. Stayed up til 7AM this morning, but I wasn’t really tired…just a bit delirious, is all lol

In case I didn’t tell you guys – because I’ve been too busy with work and neglecting you (and myself) ๐Ÿ˜ฆ – I’ve been working on 4 websites…at the same time… just me, one person…and 3 of the 4 are due November 1st. Those 3 began October 1st, and were very time-consuming (most custom websites take between 50-120 hours, depending on the client). I’ve just finished 2 of those early.

The 4th one began way too long ago and had a multitude of delays, but it’s finally completed! I haven’t had much of a chance to get to sleep at my regular early morning hour, but I may be able to soon!

At least for a month or two, anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

Every year, I have an annual sweepstakes around the holidays, starting right before Hallowe’en. The prize is a web design package, valued at $6,000! It includes quite a few useful tools for businesses and individuals. The winner is chosen randomly, and people can enter once every day if they want! The site is http://www.argeron.com/contest.html.

I guess that’s all for now. Man, I need a nap!

Sleep is Nice

October 3, 2010 Leave a comment

I had…drumroll, please…10 whole hours of sleep last night!

I went to bed at 1AM – way too early, but I was so tired – and woke up at 11 AM.

I’d had irregular hours of sleep a night for the past few nights, and that lost sleep was fast catching up with me. I’m not sure if I told you guys, but I only sleep exactly – to the minute, nearly – 4 hours a night.

Last night, I woke up after 4 hours, but I made myself go back to sleep, which was pretty difficult to do, since my mind was already racing. Then I woke up exactly 4 hours after that, did the same thing. I’d have slept another 4 hours, but my brother texted me and it woke me up.

I hope I’m not getting sick or anything, because I haven’t slept that long since…age 14, when I had the stomach flu.

Spanx Leaves Me Breathless…

September 23, 2010 Leave a comment

…no, really. It’s hard to breathe in. It is pretty wonderful, but very tight. I guess if it felt okay, it wouldn’t work as well.

When I first got it – I got the tank top one, I’m not a onesie kind of person – I was trying to put it on, and I thought I’d ordered the wrong size! I checked the tag, which said “Yes, our sizes really do go that high,” so it was the correct size. I put it on over my head, and it just was not working because it was choking me…

Hey, maybe that’s how it makes you look thinner – it crushes your throat so eating is painful? Genius!

Anyway, as I was trying to put it on –ย  and thinking of how awkward it would look if paramedics found me like that – I turn my head a little and realize that the box says to step into it…and I think that won’t work because IT’S A TANK TOP!! Who steps into a tank top, really?! If it were a onesie or a skirt, I’d understand. Besides, if it’s not going over my boobs, how in the world will it go over my rear end?

So I keep struggling, hoping that I don’t somehow rip the seams out of it with an extra pointy elbow, and I finally get it over my boobs. I figure that it’s time to rest for a bit because that was exercise – another added bonus? – but then I realize that it’s really tight around my ribcage, so I’d better pull it all the way down.

It’s completely on, and the result was nice, but is it really worth the literal pain and effort to put it on? Tell me what you think.

My Busy Weekend!

September 7, 2010 1 comment

I’ve been full of energy for the past couple of days…not sure why, but who am I to question these things? I’m just glad I don’t hurt!

Sunday, my boyfriend and I FINALLY fixed the treadmill. It took four hours! One of those hours was spent on a single screw that wouldn’t go through a piece of plastic and into the metal hole correctly. We would have just left it alone, but the screw holds the rear foot onto the treadmill, so it’s required ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Monday, I spent 1.5 hours in the grocery store an Big Lots! I haven’t been able to stay in a store for longer than 15 minutes for the past year because my back would get all stiffย  and my right leg would hurt (see “Medical Background” post for the reasons why). Somehow, I had the strength to get through yesterday, and I wasn’t even sweating with overexertion – I usually start to sweat as soon as I stand up because it takes a lot of effort to stand straight! I stated to feel a little stiff near the end, but I was able to put groceries up and do my laundry until 3AM! Woo-hoo!

I guess that’s it for now. Don’t hesitate to comment, it makes my blog worth writing ๐Ÿ˜‰

“Can You Please Buy Me Some Cheesy Poofs…?”

August 31, 2010 Leave a comment

My boyfriend came home from work about 9PM yesterday, and I really wanted a cheeseburger, some pizza, or cheesy poofs. I decided that the cheesy poofs were small so that would be the lesser of three evils.

He said, “Aren’t you on a diet?”

“Yes, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want real food!”

“Well, I’m tired and it’s been a long day…why don’t you go get something to eat yourself?”

“I’m not wearing any shoes!”

I was also thinking, Tina probably has my mugshot posted in every fast food joint in SoCal, with the caption “Do not feed! She isย  supposed to be on a diet, so if she asks for anything with a bun or fries, JUST SAY NO!”, so maybe it’s not a good idea to be seen in public asking for a large fry and double cheeseburger.

But the bottom line is, I didn’t get any non-diet food.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that this diet isn’t about moderation in the first stages, because I could definitely moderate some cheesy poofs right about now…mmm cheesy poofs…

Dialogue between my over-fed brain and my logic:

Brain: Come on, one cheesy poof won’t hurt, right?!

Logic: Not today, but it will tomorrow when you weigh in…

Brain: Well, this is today, so let’s get some poofs…oops, I mean just one!

Logic: Aha, YOU LIE!

Brain: I don’t know what you’re talking – wait, see? Your old pal Stomach is growling!

Stomach: FEED ME, SEYMOUR!

Brain: See, he’s so hungry, he’s delirious!

Logic: I can’t; you’re on a structured eating plan, and…

Stomach: I DON’T CARE! FEED ME!!!

Logic: Brain, if you’d shut up, Stomach would be fine right now. Look what you did!

Brain: Once again, I don’t know what you’re talking about, so I’m ignoring you now. Sam, foodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfoodfood…

Me: Stop it!

Brain: Well, since I can’t have what I really want, I’ll torture you instead!

See what I have to deal with? Sigh.

Sitting at Home, All Alone

August 30, 2010 Leave a comment

Well, I’m bored. And the first thing that pops into my head when I’m bored is, “Where are those cheesy poofs?”

It’s taking a bit less effort to eat less this week than last. I’m kind of tired, but I think it’s from getting less sleep than usual.

I got some sugar-free French Vanilla Torani syrup, and it’s okay. I would put it in real coffee with real caramel, but not in the cappuccino packets I have. The packet just tastes better with non-dairy creamer in it. At least the syrup doesn’t have that horrible fake-sugar aftertaste that the Walden Farms “food” does.

Yesterday, I started feeling really tired because of low blood pressure, so I had a few slices of turkey pepperoni. That helped a lot more than a slice of sandwich meat.

I guess that’s it. Pop Up Video’s on, so I definitely have to go now ๐Ÿ™‚

Surrounded by Beverages, but Not a Drop to Drink

August 24, 2010 Leave a comment

I…am…soooo…thirsty! For something NOT water, I mean. There’s tons of other things to drink here, but I’m pretty much stuck between water and Diet Coke (eew, fake sugar). A little rundown of what I’m looking at over here:

  1. FIVE boxes of Capri-Sun 100% Juice – from concentrate, of course
  2. 2 gallons of Gatorade (one blue, one yellow)
  3. 4 12-oz. bottles of Gatorade
  4. 6 12-oz. bottles of Propel “fitness” water (I found out that it was making me ill, so it’s just sitting there)
  5. 5 cans of chocolate Walmart-brand Slim Fast
  6. 1 46-oz. bottle of V8 V-Fusion Strawberry Banana fruit/vegetable juice mix
  7. 1 gallon of apple juice
  8. 12 cans of soda
  9. 1 carton of Very Vanilla Silk

Blogreaders, please note that this was ALL bought for me prior to this diet. I don’t drink much at all, so this would last me at least two months – I water it all down – and soda would last two or more (I don’t really like carbonated drinks).

My boyfriend drinks nothing but Diet Coke and smoothies, so it’s sitting there…mocking me as it slowly expires, whispering, “Wow, I can’t believe you wasted all this money on stuff you can’t even drink. We are so delicious, remember? Come on, just a little bit won’t hurt…much…”

It’s really frustrating, not because I want it, but because I’m broke – in case you did not know, I’m a graphic designer, and we’re not known for being Mr. and Mrs. Buxaplenty – and have been poor all my life, so seeing perfectly good drinks just SITTING THERE waiting to be consumed is driving me nuts. I know, I know, “Why don’t you give it to someone?” I would…if I knew anyone, and they’d pay me for them ๐Ÿ˜€

I think this is the longest blog post I’ve written so far…what’s the deal?

Not to mention there’s TONS of food I can’t eat either. I don’t cook, everything is microwaved or cooked for me. Most everything I can eat must be cooked, like vegetables, chicken, steak, etc., so I don’t eat. Idid find out about the Low-Carb Burger at Carl’s Jr. so I guess that’s my only fast-food option.

Oh, and I went to Walmart with my boyfriend Sunday. I actually could walk around without much back pain – my back did become really stiff –ย  but my biceps were on fire because I was leaning on the cart so much. I started feeling a little weird near the end (it was hot in the store, and just the effort of standing up makes me sweat) so I went and sat in the car.

I think that’s all for now. Let me know if you have any questions, comments, or emotional outbursts!

Salt Lick

August 20, 2010 Leave a comment

I was tired and a bit disoriented/forgetful yesterday.

I drove home, opened the garage door, drove into the garage and got out of the car. I went into the house and completely forgot to close the garage door! I took a nap, so the door was open for two hours until Todd – my boyfriend – came home. Iโ€™ve been feeling kind of fuzzy while driving too, so Iโ€™m keeping it to a minimum until I feel better.

Iโ€™m tired today, too. I took a nap, and it didnโ€™t help, so I checked my blood pressure around 11 pm: 104/62! Before this diet, it was never lower than 130/85, so I think that’s it.

I guess Iโ€™ll have to go to the pet store and buy a salt lick for gerbils, put it on my pinky finger and lick it throughout the day. New craze: Salt Ring Pops! mmm…

Maybe Next Time I’ll Think Before I Cheat

August 16, 2010 Leave a comment

Well, I dug my fork into the side of that meaty macaroni carb-filled pile…and yes, it was SO good. But I felt rather guilty afterward, and I KNOW I’m going to feel it tomorrow, so I probably won’t cheat again. Yes, I said “probably,” just in case I happen to become stranded in the desert with only a cheeseburger, fries, and a Coke…hey, it could happen!
